Gallery: Smoker Repair - October and November 2025
If you've known me for any length of time, you know I love smoked meats of pretty much any variety. I've had and loved my Masterbuilt smoker for YEARS, and I literally ran in until the wood pan rusted through, the brine pan was so concreted it wasn't usable and the burner was essentially dissolving underneath it. It's been down for a while, but Thanksgiving is coming up, and we just couldn't be without the famous Weigold Mountain Smoked Turkey. So I got to work. Here's some pictures of the progress. I'm pleased to report that the old gal is finally smoke ready again after a test run, so as soon as I get something smokable thawed, she's going to get another run. She got a new propane burner, a custom fabricated burner mount, a newly fabricated wood rack and the brine tray holder revised to support a standard disposable aluminum cooking pan.
